It’s hard to believe January is already over! The month flew by so fast, it’s crazy. January was such an amazing start to 2017, and I made so many great memories with my favorite people. I accomplished so much this month, and I am very pleased with how it all turned out! I really focused on opening out of my shell and becoming a more positive person, and I felt so much happier inside!
This month was also a fantastic start for my new blog! It isn’t easy starting a blog, and it’s even harder to build traffic, so I worked my butt off this month so that my blog would start off successful. I am proud to say that my stats were through the roof this month, and I am so glad all of my hard work paid off! Thank you all so much for all of your support. I couldn’t have done this without you!
So, as you can probably guess from the title, today I am reflecting on January 2017. I will be highlighting some of my favorite moments and giving you all an overview of my blog traffic this month. I will also be doing a little forecast for February, so I hope to hear some feedback from you guys on that. Enjoy the post!
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start off my 2017! This month, I made so many great memories with the people I love, and today I will be sharing a few of my favorite moments with you.
This month started off great from the very beginning: I had a white New Years with one of my best friends up in Mount Hood, OR. We went sledding at midnight in all the fresh powder and had such an amazing time together. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate the New Year than with her, and I know I will never forget it!
Later on, school was canceled for a week due to a massive snowstorm we had. We got over a foot of snow in one night, which is unheard of in this area. It was so nice to have a little time off from the craziness of school, and I spent it sledding, building forts, and taking some awesome pictures in the snow!
After the week of snow days, we had yet another day off from school to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. My friends and I went to see the movie Sing, and we really enjoyed it! I spent the remainder of the day watching Glee and texting my best friend. I was just really happy that day, which made it memorable.
Lastly, I had such a great time at our January school dance! It just so happened to be my best friend, Mary‘s, birthday, so we got the girls together to celebrate before the dance. The dance, on the other hand, was ah-mazing! My friends and I danced together and belted out all of our favorite songs at the top of our lungs (Of course you couldn’t hear us over the loud music). I slow danced with a guy-friend of mine and someone else that is more than a friend and had a blast.

January Blog Stats:
I am very pleased with my blog stats this month! As you all know, I worked my butt off this month to make sure this blog started off on the right track, so I am very relieved that all of that hard work paid off! I did plenty of research on SEO (search engine optimization), how to increase traffic, and building my email list. Then, I made sure to optimize my blog to it’s fullest potential. I am happy to say received over 700 views this month, and had almost 200 visitors to my blog!
My email subscribers, on the other hand, could use a little TLC. I only gained 15 subscribers this month, with my goal originally being over 25. But that’s just life, and I have learned from my mistakes! I have traffic, so next month I am going to really focus on converting those visitors into subscribers. Just think, if every one of my visitors subscribed this month, I would have over 180 subscribers! I just need to figure out a method that works on how to attract steady subscribers, and I’ll be golden!
1. Utilize social media.
This month, I seriously got off track with my social media accounts. I didn’t post at all on my main, and I only posted my first couple posts on my blog account. In February, my goal is to use Instagram and Pinterest to my advantage. I will post links to raise awareness and hopefully lead more traffic to my blog.
2. Convert visitors into subscribers.
As I stated above, if I converted this month’s visitors into subscribers, I would have well over 180 subs! I have some ideas up my sleeve on how I can draw more attention to my blog. One of my ideas was adding some blogging freebies for subscribers to enjoy. I have done a fair share of research on blogging, and I would be happy to share my knowledge with you! You guys deserve it!
3. Keep up with post schedule.
Man, I’m a little disappointed with myself. Towards the end of the month, I completely blew off my posting schedule, and got behind by almost two weeks! It takes me almost three hours to write a high quality, 1000 word, post, so you can imagine how much time I had to spend in order to catch up. I’m telling you, it was not easy. I am promising myself that I won’t let this happen in February!
Alright guys, that’s all I have for you today. I hope you all enjoyed this post, and that you had a great January yourselves! Let me know your feedback on some of my “converting visitors into subscribers” ideas, and if you have any questions feel free to let me know in the comments below! Also, I would love to hear your ideas on any post suggestions and/or ideas for me this February. Have a great day everyone!
