*sniff* Welcome back everyone.
Spring has only just begun and I’m afraid that allergies have already taken their toll on me. I have been sick for the past couple of days with a cold, so I have decided to make good use of the time off and get back on track with some posts. *sneezes* I am quite ready for it to go away, though.
It is absolutely crazy how fast the past couple months have flown by and it’s insane that spring break is just around the corner! School is in full swing right now: We have projects in every subject, a 10 paged research paper starting soon, and our Washington D.C. trip coming up. Not to mention we have a whole lot of work to make up for the snow days AND graduation just around the corner. I am so ready for spring break to come and get me out of all of this chaos!
In honor of 8th-grade graduation, most of my classmates are going out of town to some exotic destinations this spring break. Me on the other hand, well, I am staying here in the rainy, Pacific North West. Although as of right now the weather channel has forecasted rain all of spring break, I am still going to make the most of it! Today I am sharing my tips on how to staycation like a boss so that you don’t have to envy your friends anymore. You can thank me later. ;))
1. Hit up your staycation buddies
Make a group chat of friends that you know are staying home for spring break and plan an epic sleepover or get together. Just because you’re staying in town doesn’t mean you can’t have a great time together! You could go to a movie, go ice skating, or take a mini road-trip. The possibilities are endless!
2. Go shopping
There are a whole bunch of stores having spring sales right about now, so why not go out and get some new clothing? You can gather up your buddies and plan a shopping spree together, or just go with your mom. (hey, I’m not judging that’s how I shop)
3. Get cozy
Spring break is supposed to be a break from school, hence the name. Sit back and have a lazy day where you stay in pajamas all day. Buy your favorite snacks/comfort food, get a whole bunch of blankets, turn the lights down, and watch your favorite movie/show. Make some relaxing tea, listening to music, take a nap – just do whatever makes you happy!
4. Have a spa day
After a long day of staycationing, take some time to pamper yourself. Light some calming candles, put on a face mask, and take a relaxing bath. You can do your nails, get a massage, anything you wouldn’t regularly have time to do. Your body and mind will thank you!
5. Get creative in the kitchen
Take advantage of the extra time you have staycationing and make a fancy meal or dessert. All you have to do is look up a tasty recipe, make sure you have all the ingredients, and give it a shot! Pro tip: you can find a whole bunch of recipes on Pinterest that taste ah-mazing.
6. Make a spring playlist
Over the break, explore some new music and make a playlist of your favorite songs. Music is relaxing to listen to, and is scientifically proven to boost your mood!
7. Go outside
Spring break is the perfect time to go outside and go for a stroll, jog, or picnic, even when it’s raining! Okay, maybe not a picnic, but don’t let the rain keep you indoors!
8. Get fit
Now is the perfect time to try out some of those Pinterest workouts that you pinned ages ago. Try a workout of two and try to keep up healthy habits all week. That way, you can go back to school refreshed and with a new, healthier mindset!
In honor of spring, I recommend taking a day to declutter and organize your living space – You have to get it done sometime! Don’t worry, though, organizing can be a lot of fun! Check out my other post on some tips on how to organize efficiently and enjoyably here.
10. Make a bucket list
Making a bucket list is a fun thing to do on a slow day at home. I made mine on Pinterest. It’s a great way to make plans for your future and imagine some of the things that you want to do one day. You’ll be surprised by the things you may find!
That is all of the tips I have for you guys today. Let me know your favorites in the comments or if you’re going out of town this spring break. I would love to hear it!
Remember, the most important thing about vacations/staycations is sitting back and taking time to relax. Don’t get too caught up in the craziness!
I will see you all in April! Byee.
