Humongous Blog Update + Big News!

Jimmy Fallon looks as excited I am to be writing this post.

intro

*sits down by laptop with peach tea* I don’t know about you guys, but my spring break has been a lot of fun, even though I stayed at home the majority of the time. It was so rewarding after a crazy busy couple months of school! Now I am happy to say that I am reenergized and ready for school to start up again.

I have been soo busy lately designing my blog during the break, and I am ecstatic to say that I am completely finished! Don’t you just love that feeling of accomplishment you get when you FINALLY get something done? Ahh, it’s my favorite.

*sips tea* I’ve updated a lotta things: my pages, my sidebar, my header – I could literally go on forever. I also learned how to use PicMonkey for my design editing as well! I have been using Canva in the past, and it has worked great, but PicMonkey. *swoons* There are so many amazing editing tools that I can’t believe I didn’t know about! I’m seriously hooked.

I did make some tiny design updates to my header and sidebar earlier this week but wasn’t really feeling how it turned out. It wasn’t much different than it was before, and the color scheme and overall design were a little boring and repetitive. Later on, I decided to just redo my whole design and it turned out just the way I wanted – something new to made my blog stand out!

Anywho, I will be sharing some details on the updates I made to my blog and be chatting briefly about one of my ideas in today’s post. I’m super excited to share it all with you guys and won’t stall you any longer. Let’s go!

First off, we have the

changed.jpg

1. My header image

This one is pretty obvious since the change is quite substantial. I changed the font from Selime to Magnolia Sky which I flipping LOVE. It’s is so swirly and adorable. Anyway, I got rid the pastel pink watercolor streak in the background and replaced it with some cute little watercolor flower bunches.

2. My sidebar/footer images

I didn’t have images in my sidebar or footer before, but now I do! They just give a little pop of color to my blog that I love, and they didn’t take long to make. I just kept the same template open in PicMonkey (my new love) and edited the text.

3. Fonts

I changed my blog fonts from Satisfy (for my headings and titles) and Open Sans (for my body text) to Raleway. This isn’t a huge change, except the fact that the Raleway font is much simpler than the loopy, hard to read Satisfy font and (in my opinion) looks much better.

4. Blogs I ♡

I know what you’re thinking – “Wow, it’s about time she made a blog swap page.” Well, you don’t have to think that any longer – I FINALLY made one! Plus, I made a new blog button to go with my blog design. (Oh, and if you’re a tech-savvy person, would you mind leaving me a comment on how to add the HTML code underneath my button? I’ve tried and failed miserably.)

5. My about page

I found a lot of tiny typos in my about page that just bugged the OCD side of me and I decided to “revise it a tad.” Well, I guess “revising it a tad” means completely redo it because ended up deleting and rewording half of it, but yeah! It looks great now! I have a fancy schmancy featured image up, some gifs, and no more typos. *looks accomplished*

And next, we have the very few

didnt change.jpg

1. My theme color

I love my theme color so much. It’s this pastel pinkish color that is just so cute. It still matched my new header image, so I decided to just keep it the same. (Plus, I had it memorized – #ffbbee)

2. My old posts and featured images

I like to go through my old posts and update them every now and then but I have yet to do so ever since I first started my blog. (#whoops) I hope to get that done soon though!

3. My theme

I decided to keep my theme Nuclear Pro since I paid for it when I first started my blog. Plus, it has a slider and other amazing features that I really enjoy.

And that, my friends, is about all that I didn’t change. Next up, I have some big news… 😀

  1. Oh, did you ever get my email back? I’m not sure if you got it, since you didn’t reply. But OMG I LOVE YOUR NEW DESIGN SO MUCH AAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH *fangirls intensely* I loooove the font Raleway (which may or may not be from Cait’s amazing blog). MAGNOLIA SKY IS SUCH A PRETTY FONT AND I HAVE TO GO DOWNLOAD IT RIGHT NOW. XD And I loooove your new header and graphics. Omg Liv I just LOVE IT ALLLLLLLLLLL CAN I FANGIRL SOME MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE

    1. OMG May that means so much coming from you!! I mean, look at your blog! ITS FLAWLESS.
And no, I’m afraid I didn’t get your email. Do you know what email you sent it too?

  2. Okay okay IT LOOKS AMAZING GIRL. I love the floral theme and your fonts and allll the things. And yeah, Canva is great, but it can be really limiting — PicMonkey is so much more versatile.

Basically — I’m continuing to love your blog, and YOU ARE MAKING ME CRAVE PEACH TEA. XDD

  3. Okay. I’m not even exaggerating. YOUR BLOG LOOKS SO *DIES AND DIES AGAIN BECUASE I CANNOT DESCRIBE* I’m speechless — not being too much of a fan of your old design, I thought the new design would still be a little…meh. BUT OMG I LOVE IT SO MUCH CAN I JUST CRY NOW? HOW DO I EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE IT!!!
And omg, a blog design business? Wow, that’s awesome – i’m pretty happy with my blog but I’ll be sure to spread the word because everyone needs to see this beautiful *wipes tear*

  4. I am so freaking dumbfounded right now! Your blog is so amazing, omigosh. I am so broke from books, and food I can’t afford anything right now, let alone Nuclear Pro. Your fonts are so amazing, and THE PASTEL PINK IS MY FAVORITE! Anyway, thanks for switching buttons with me, so glad I discovered your blog.

    1. Haha this comment made my day! :)) I’m so glad you like it! And I TOTALLY feel you, I had to save up money for a while. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever in invested in though! Thanks for the lovely comment. 💘

  5. Looks AMAZING!!! I will definitely be getting a free trail! *screams in excitement* So professional looking… Yeah, canva can be soooo annoying. I’ve been using Befunky for a while now, and I think it’s about the same thing is picmonkey except not as much of a fancy interface. You probably don’t remember me, but if it helps I was on NaNo as AugusttheAwesome.

    1. I have a Lenovo Flex 4 that I got for under $300 at Costco. 🙂 It’s super fast, has lots of space for my photos, and can convert into a tablet which I *love*.
